There is a wizard designed for step-by-step instructions to connect to the Internet. You'll find the "Connect to the Internet" icon on the desktop or by clicking on Start - Programs - Internet Explorer - Connection Wizard (either way will launch the wizard). 

The wizard will prompt you through the following steps:

1.)  Select the option:

• I have an existing Internet account through my phone line or a local area network (LAN). Help me set up my computer to connect to this Internet account.

2.)  Click

3.)  Select the option:

• Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using an Internet Service Provider or a local area network (LAN).

4.)  Click

5.)  Set Up Your Internet Connection.
Select the option:

• Connect using my phone line

6.)  Click

7.)  Confirm that your modem is selected (note: the wizard may skip this prompt)

8.)  Click

9.)  Dial-Up Connection.

Select the option:

• Create a new dial-up connection

10.) Click

11.) In the telephone number field type: 369-3380
 NOTE: If you have call waiting and you want to disable call waiting on a per call basis when you connect to the Internet then type the following in the telephone number field: *70,369-3380

12.) Dial using the area code and country code should not be checked

13.) Click

14.) User Name & Password. (This information is found on your RTI Internet Parameters sheet and is case sensitive. Please type them as they appear on the sheet.)

a.)  User name: <type in your Access User Name>
Example: CbrownP

b.)  Password: <type in your Access User Password>

15.) Click

16.) Advanced Settings.

Do you want to change the advanced settings for this connection?
Choose NO


17.) Click

18.) Dial-up Connection Name.

Connection name: <type "RTI Internet">


19.) Click

20.) Set Up Your Internet Mail Account.

Do you want to setup an Internet mail account now?
Choose YES

21.) Click

22.) Internet Mail Account.

• Create a new Internet mail account

23.) Click

24.) Your Name.

Display Name: <type in your name>
Example: Charlie Brown

25.) Click

26.) Internet Email Address. (This information is found on your RTI Internet Parameters sheet and is case sensitive. Please type them as they appear on the sheet.)

Email address: <type in your full POP Mail Account> Example: cbrown@rtinet.com

28.) Click

29.) Internet Mail Logon.

• Log on using:

30.) Click

31.) Friendly Name.
Internet mail account name: <type in "RTI Email">

 
32.) Click

33.) Set Up Your Internet News Account.
Do you want to setup an Internet news account now?
                    Choose YES

34.) Click

35.) Internet News Account.

• Create a new Internet news account

36.) Click

37.) Your Name.

Display Name: <type in your name> Example: Charlie Brown

38.) Click

39.) Internet News Email Address.

Email address: <type in your POP Mail Account>
Example: cbrown@rtinet.com

40.) Click

41.) Internet News Server Name.

News (NNTP) Server: <news.rtinet.com>
My news server requires me to logon should not be checked

42.) Click

43.) Friendly Name.

Internet news account name: <type in "RTI News">

44.) Click

45.) Set Up Your Internet Directory Service.

Do you want to set up your Internet directory service account?
Choose NO

46.) Click

47.) Complete Configuration.

Click FINISH to complete

Please Note: when you are connected to the RTI Internet Server you will see an icon in the lower right-hand corner representing your modems established connection. The icon (double green monitors) is only there when you are connected - so be sure to disconnect when you are done with your session or you may be accumulating time.
